Larry Bryggman joined ATWT as Dr. John Dixon in 1969. John Dixon has 2 sons Andy Dixon and M. J. Dixon and a daughter Margo Hughes. His son with Barbara, Johnny Dixon died a little after birth.

He was previously married to Kim Hughes. He has now divorced Barbara Ryan. He was also engaged to Lisa Miller. He and Lyla Montgomery were lovers which resulted in Margo.

Larry Bryggman has been in several Broadway productions. He also has many movies to his credit. He won 2 emmy awards for outstanding actor in ATWT. He has 2 kids. He married ATWT stage manager Traci Hanley in August 1999 and they have a baby boy, Ryan who was born on December 4, 1999.
